Also coming up at the end of the month will be our Parent/Teacher Conferences for all of you who are interested. Look for a sign-up sheet near the end of the month. We have not set any final dates yet.

This week we will do letters M and N- remember something that starts with one of those letters for sharing circle on Friday.

Feb 7-11

This week we will learn letters G and H
We will start talking about how to keep our bodies healthy.

Last week was a hard week in our class. One of our moms who had been sick for quite some time passed away on Monday. I wanted you all to be aware, in case it comes up. I know your kids tell you lots of things that you're not sure are true. This is. We have not needed to address it as a class yet as the boys have not really talked about it too much. Our condolences go out to the family. We love your kids and want to lend any support we can.

If you are looking for info on our Valentines party read the post previous to this one.

Make sure you are taking blankets home to wash once a week please!
Have a fantastic week.

Jan 31-Feb. 4

Hope everyone is excited to get back to school on Monday. Diana and I spent 4 hours Friday and 10 hours Saturday cleaning out our classroom closets. You won't be able to tell the difference but we sure will!! I am excited for organized cleaned out closets!! Next step...file cabinets.
So that was our weekend, hope yours was equally as great.

This week we are going to talk about shadows and groundhogs. As we transition into February our monthly them changes to Be Health, Be Happy. We will spend this month talking about how to keep our bodies healthy. We will talk about Doctors, Dentists and our emotions.
We will continue having 2 letters of the week.

On Monday Feb. 14th we will have a Hearty Party in honor of Valentines Day. Kids may bring Valentines to share with their Friends that day. We welcome all to attend even if Monday is not a normally scheduled day. We have 40 kids on our roll. Valentines should be addressed To: My Friend From: Your Child. Many parents like to send treats along with the Valentines this is perfectly fine but not required. We currently have 3 teachers in our classroom as well.

Our letters of the week are E and F. Remember something that starts with one of those letters for sharing circle on Friday.

Have a Fantastic Week.

Jan 17-21

Hello Parents!!
Hope everyone had a nice relaxing weekend.
We are opened tomorrow. We will start our letters of the week. Our first will be A&B. We will go in order each week until we get to the end of the alphabet. On Fridays kids can bring 1 item from home to share at sharing circle time. That item should start with one of the letters of the week.
This week we will talk a little more about snow and ice but also spend some time talking about Martin Luther King and the dream he had for America. Our Magic Treehouse book will talk all about segregation. We will use this time to talk to the kids about accepting everyone, making everyone feel welcomed and being fair.
Friday our food project will be penguin cookies.
Have a great week!
