June 20-24

We have been having so much fun learning about Fairy Tales this last 2 weeks. We have gone through all the traditional stories- now we are moving on to Fairy Tale School. Monday we will learn how to be fairies, Tues. Knights, Wed. Royalty, Thursday we have the State Nutrition office coming to do a special program for our school. ( Teacher Diana's Milk Mustache Club won the statewide nutrition education contest so Way to go Diana!) if we have time we will have Pirate School.

Friday is the Fairy Tale Ball. Hope everyone is working on costumes here are a few pics of past years...
Hopefully those pictures help give you some ideas... You can do something simple or go all out.
As always with special activity days if your child does not normally attend on Friday they are welcome to come. We would love to see everyone there for the ball. I do have a few princess dresses that people can borrow for the day of the ball, let me know if you are interested.

We are looking forward to this exciting day!
Have a great week

This Week

Monday kicks off our 3 week unit on Fairy Tales. It will culminate with a Fairy Tale Ball where each child comes to school dressed as a favorite fairy tale character on Friday the 24th.
We spend this unit writing our own fairy tale, learning about traditional and more current tales. We will take a trip with Jack and Annie to Camelot and meet Arthur and his Knights. We will go to school and learn how to be knight, princesses, princes, fairies (and maybe even pirates) We always have so much fun.

Our summer schedule works a little differently than our school year. It is not as academically focused. Academics are still addressed but we really try to make it extra special right before they head off the Kindergarten. Each week we will have a different topic. Each Friday will be an activity day to wrap up the unit. Look for a summer newsletter with our full summer schedule coming soon. Then pin it on the wall and check it weekly so your child doesn't miss out on a fun activity like Water Day, a Cowboy Rodeo, or a Patriotic Parade.

June looks like this
June 6-10 Fairy Tales- Friday Activity Trip to Camelot
June 13-17 Fairy Tales- Friday Activity Water Day. Each child should bring a swimsuit and towel and get ready to be soaked!
June 20-24th Fairy Tale School- Friday Activity Fairy Tale Ball come dressed as a fairy tale character and get ready to party!
June 27-July 1 Proud to be an American- Friday Activity Patriotic Parade come dressed in Red White and Blue
We will be closed July 4th for the Holiday

Also looking ahead Teacher Charelle in the 3's class is thinking of having a fundraiser this summer to help raise funds so we can buy some new things for the school. She has talked about having a yard sale as a part of the festivities and will be asking parents to donate things for us to sale. I do not think any plans are final yet but I wanted to give you a heads up. I think she is aiming for the end of June. I am sure she would appreciate any help you are willing to give. We would sure love to have a little money for new things....

As always thanks for the support and have a fantastic week

WORMS!! We had so much fun digging for worms and turning our garden to get ready for planting. Diana even brought 2 huge containers of night crawlers for us to play with. No squeamish kids here! The loved it so much. So many kids wanted to take them home but we told them there home was in the garden so they had to stay there. You"re Welcome. ;)

Oops out of order...making spider hats.

This coming week we are learning about Gardens. We will even be planting our own garden in the back.

I can officially announce Our Graduation Ceremony will be on Thursday May 19th at 10 am. All children will participate and graduate even if they are not going to Kindergarten this fall. All kids should be there by 9:30 so we can get them situated. The ceremony will only be about 30 minutes with a few refreshments to follow. Kids can stay the rest of the day and you can head back to work. Please try to attend the kids are always so excited to perform for Mom and Dad.

A few parents have asked when we move kids up to the 5's class. During the Summer the School age kids come back and fill up the 5's class. We keep all 5 year olds until the last week in August. The move date will probably be Aug.29th. That is also the date our Fall school year starts.

Thanks to all those who came to Parent Teacher Conferences. Diana had a great time getting to know all of you better!
Have a Fantastic week
