Nov. 14-18

Thank you to everyone who came to visit us for family week. We have so much fun getting to know you and your families more, and the kids love getting to show you off. If you did not get a chance to come in and tell us about your family talk to one of us. We are more than willing to find a time that works with your schedule.
We still need quite a few family pictures......

This week we are learning letters S and T.
Next week will be a letter review week.
Tuesday the 22nd will be our school wide Thanksgiving Feast. Children are invited to dress up a little that day to help make our meal extra special.

Coming up Fri. December 2nd is our Polar Express Day. Kids get to wear their jammies to school and we will have a fun pre-Christmas party. This is one of our favorite days all year.

As always if your child does not normally attend the day of these activities they can still come. They can switch days or come an extra day. The more the merrier we say!!

Have a fantastic week

Family Week Nov. 7-11

Nobody has said anything to me about how little I have updated the blog so it has been a while since I have. It is a tool for parents but if none of the parents use it then it makes it hard for me to update...

It is a new month so I will try to get caught up.

This week Nov. 7 - 11 is Family Week. Make sure you sign up for a time to visit our class. We also need family pictures from EVERYONE!!. If you can not swing a class visit this week we are flexible and welcome you to set up a time this month that will work for you. Or you can bring a poster that tells about your family. We don't want any kids to feel left out!!

We are learning Q and R this week. Our monthly theme centers around all things Thanksgiving and things we are thankful for.

Thanks to everyone who has already signed up! We love family week and look forward to getting to know each of you a little better.

Have a great week!

Welcome to our New Year!

Welcome to the Dinofours class blog!!

Welcome to all our new parents. We are so excited to have you and your child join our School Family. We can't wait to get to know you and work with you. This blog is designed to be a resource for you so you can find info at home even if you lost the note we gave you at school or *gasp* forgot to read the white board. Not that any of us would ever do that.......;)

I will post upcoming events and notices. I will also post pictures starting in September once I have made certain everyone knows about the blog. If you have a reason why your childs picture should not be posted please let me know ASAP.

I hope everyone has gotten a new Parent Packet from us. If we missed you then please let us know and we will get you one. I will also be putting out a newsletter soon to inform you more about some of the fun ways we try to involve you in your child's preschool life.

Here is a basic run down of our Preschool time schedule.

9:30 Circle time- a group time where we gather everyone to read, sing, tell stories and learn.
10:00 Outside time- when it gets colder we will have an indoor activity time
10:30-11:30 Center time- Teachers set out centers and children have an hour to explore and learn. Teachers get down and facilitate learning but do not lead here. This is a time that they really get to make choices and grow.
11:30 Music or singing time
12:00 Lunch

This is our schedule 5 days a week. Monday we introduce the 2 letters of the week. Tuesday we focus on the first letter, Wednesday the 2nd letter. Thursdays are usually Magic Treehouse adventure days. We will have a Sharing Circle time on Fridays where children may share the thing they brought from home that starts with the letter of the week. We will also do centers that day. Fridays will host Food Projects as one of the centers and also a "Movie Nap" time.

This blog is meant to be a resource for you. Feel free to follow it and leave comments. If you think of something that you would like me to post about just let me know and I will see what I can do. My computer skills aren't super great but I will do my best.

We have had such a great summer. Now back to our School Readiness Curriculum.
So excited to be partners with you in your child's education and learning

Hopefully those pictures help give you some ideas... You can do something simple or go all out.
As always with special activity days if your child does not normally attend on Friday they are welcome to come. We would love to see everyone there for the ball. I do have a few princess dresses that people can borrow for the day of the ball, let me know if you are interested.

This Week

Monday kicks off our 3 week unit on Fairy Tales. It will culminate with a Fairy Tale Ball where each child comes to school dressed as a favorite fairy tale character on Friday the 24th.
We spend this unit writing our own fairy tale, learning about traditional and more current tales. We will take a trip with Jack and Annie to Camelot and meet Arthur and his Knights. We will go to school and learn how to be knight, princesses, princes, fairies (and maybe even pirates) We always have so much fun.

Our summer schedule works a little differently than our school year. It is not as academically focused. Academics are still addressed but we really try to make it extra special right before they head off the Kindergarten. Each week we will have a different topic. Each Friday will be an activity day to wrap up the unit. Look for a summer newsletter with our full summer schedule coming soon. Then pin it on the wall and check it weekly so your child doesn't miss out on a fun activity like Water Day, a Cowboy Rodeo, or a Patriotic Parade.

June looks like this
June 6-10 Fairy Tales- Friday Activity Trip to Camelot
June 13-17 Fairy Tales- Friday Activity Water Day. Each child should bring a swimsuit and towel and get ready to be soaked!
June 20-24th Fairy Tale School- Friday Activity Fairy Tale Ball come dressed as a fairy tale character and get ready to party!
June 27-July 1 Proud to be an American- Friday Activity Patriotic Parade come dressed in Red White and Blue
We will be closed July 4th for the Holiday

Also looking ahead Teacher Charelle in the 3's class is thinking of having a fundraiser this summer to help raise funds so we can buy some new things for the school. She has talked about having a yard sale as a part of the festivities and will be asking parents to donate things for us to sale. I do not think any plans are final yet but I wanted to give you a heads up. I think she is aiming for the end of June. I am sure she would appreciate any help you are willing to give. We would sure love to have a little money for new things....

As always thanks for the support and have a fantastic week

May 9-13

Here are some fun pictures from last week. Bugs and Worms! Our Favorites
One of our Mnt. Logan Friends reads us stories.

Wrapping our own spiderwebs.
Wearing our spider hats and making Itsy Bitsy Spider books
Making webs with yarn and our toy spiders.
WORMS!! We had so much fun digging for worms and turning our garden to get ready for planting. Diana even brought 2 huge containers of night crawlers for us to play with. No squeamish kids here! The loved it so much. So many kids wanted to take them home but we told them there home was in the garden so they had to stay there. You"re Welcome. ;)

Oops out of order...making spider hats.

This coming week we are learning about Gardens. We will even be planting our own garden in the back.

I can officially announce Our Graduation Ceremony will be on Thursday May 19th at 10 am. All children will participate and graduate even if they are not going to Kindergarten this fall. All kids should be there by 9:30 so we can get them situated. The ceremony will only be about 30 minutes with a few refreshments to follow. Kids can stay the rest of the day and you can head back to work. Please try to attend the kids are always so excited to perform for Mom and Dad.

A few parents have asked when we move kids up to the 5's class. During the Summer the School age kids come back and fill up the 5's class. We keep all 5 year olds until the last week in August. The move date will probably be Aug.29th. That is also the date our Fall school year starts.

Thanks to all those who came to Parent Teacher Conferences. Diana had a great time getting to know all of you better!
Have a Fantastic week
