Picturefest....sorry it took so long.

Thanks so much for being so patient with me I had good intentions this week but with a sick kiddo of my own this week things got a little derailed. If I had to choose one thing that has made a difference in my teaching style I would say it would be becoming a mom. It is so much easier to understand the crazy things parents do when you are going through the same thing yourself! Thanks for putting up with the craziness on Thursday when I had to take my sick girlie home and the class had a sub. Let us hope that does not happen again for a while.........

So here it is Picture Fest April 2010

Have you taken a minute to check out back to see the new grass areas- it looks really good and there is now a garden for each classroom. Don't forget to check out all the other changes we are making- yeah for State Grant money- we are really excited about our new things.

Zoo Week....

Our little researchers!
They really got into building cages and homes for all our animals.

Diana plays a Zookeeper game at Circle Time

Farm Week..... tractor track paintings

Milking "Bessie the yellow cow" aka our table

These two got board of making letter and decided to do their own thing. I love it!!
Bug Week......"The Dance of Metamorphosis" yes I actually have them dance through the process from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis then butterfly- here they are emerging from the chrysalis..
Here they are eating out of flowers...
Friday food project--Butterfly Cakes
Had to take a close up of the m&m pile they built onto their cake- so much fun to decorate cakes with 4 year olds. Hope they didn't lick their finger too much.
That catches us all up!!

Hope you all have a great weekend. See you Monday.

Farm Life

Hope you all had a great weekend. We are all well rested and ready to get back to work! Right?

This week we will do our Down on the Farm Unit. We will talk about animals that live on a farm and what kinds of things come from farms. Sharing will be free choice on Friday but if you can find something farm related that would be awesome. Just make sure they know what letter their sharing starts with so they can share that with the class. Make sure you have brought us your summer schedules and parent surveys!

Child Care Connection

Did you know that our classroom is partnered with Bear River Head start??? We are part of the Child Care Connection. It is a great program! We get extra funding for each child in our class enrolled, they do extra screenings and assessments and work with specialist at Head Start. We also get a special visitor once a month. Have you heard your kids talk about Teacher Cassie and wondered who she is..... mystery solved she is our CCC teacher. We love Cassie. She used to teach in our 3 year old class before she moved on to Bear River Head Start. She comes once a month and does really fun lessons and activities. We especially love it when she bring new toys we have never played with before. This Tuesday she came and did "If You Give A Pig A Pancake" Here are a few shots of the fun things we do. If you are interested in enrolling in this program Karen can help- I know it is income based like all head start programs. For specifics and an application you should for sure check with Karen. These are an example of some of the fun toys Cassie bringsWe got to make Pig Pancakes with strawberry ears banana noses and raisin eyes AND we got to eat them too!We did Sticky Art to remind us of sticky syrupSee what I mean cool toys she brought a whole box of pancake toys. Aprons, cash register, money, menus, pans, pancakes, pancakes pancakes!
