This week is our "I Want to be a Scientist Week". We will learn all about the scientific method and ways to measure. We will get to experiment with all sorts of different materials. Last year we had such a good mess time!! We are so excited! On Friday our Head Start Child Care Connection teacher will be paying us a visit to make Banana Splits and we will try out some fun experiments.
Our official new school year will start on August 23rd. On that day we will send everyone who is 5 by September 1st over to the 5's class and we will get our new group of kids from upstairs.
This Fall we will be trying out a new curriculum. We are switching to a monthly theme. We are so excited about the change. We will also be doing 2 letters a week in hopes of getting through the whole alphabet before January when we move our 5 year olds again. A monthly theme allows more leeway to spend more time on things that interests the children and less time on things that don't. We also think it will really help us increase our focus on important skills your child will need for school. I hope that you are as excited for the change as us. We have put a lot of thought into this decision. Keep an eye out for more info about the Fall.
